  • Reflection of Critical Thinking Among University Students

From the online discussion that I have with my group, I can conclude that critical thinking is one of the most valuable skills that every student must learn to master. It is not just limited to problem-solving skills in class but also in real-life situations. And, I think critical thinking is really important to students, especially College students. Because critically is an essential skill for students working on assignments and performing research. Core critical thinking skills are based on how well they can analyze problems, make well-founded interpretations, draw reasoned inferences in quantitative and non-quantitative contexts, explain, and evaluate points of view. Critical thinking can help you better understand yourself, and in turn, help you avoid any kind of negative or limiting beliefs, and focus more on your strengths. Being able to share your thoughts can increase your quality of life. By improving the quality of both your decisions and your thoughts, critical thinking can significantly improve your life, both personally and professionally.

I think, it’s a bit hard to for me being a critical thinking person. Basically, maybe because i usually don’t get much practice during our early years, when we’re still learning how to think. I don't think most people even know how to think critically. Some people might feel guilty for thinking critically of something. Thinking tends to focus on a problem's "surface structure" To understand why the surface structure of a problem is so distracting and, as a result, why it's so hard to apply familiar solutions to problems that appear new. Even though we still have a struggle with critical thinking, but there are so many things that we can do to improve our critical thinking. Such as, you should know exactly what you want. We have to think critically to solve problems so that they meet their objectives. So ask yourself: What do I want? What do I expect to get out of this? Until you know the answer to these questions you're not going to know what the right decision is. And, ask basic question : What do you already know? How do you know that? What are you trying to prove, disprove, demonstrated, critique, etc.? What are you overlooking?. And the last is, understand that no one thinks critically 100% of the time, you can’t think critically all the time, and that’s okay. In conclusion, online discussions that I have with my group can improve my speaking skills too. Because, we can share our opinions without feeling blamed. Its improve our knowledge too, because we have a different opinion so we can got much insight.
